TWOBIAS
(Two Stage Rapid Biological Surveillance and Alarm System for Airborne Threats)

TWOBIAS takes action in reducing security gaps regarding biological threat issues as called upon by the European authorities. The impact of TWOBIAS is to increase situational awareness of a biological incident and to improve national and European biological preparedness and response.

The overall goal of TWOBIAS is to increase safety for civilians, in particular at high profile public sites regarded as targets for bioterrorist attacks by technological development on improving a biodetector's and identifier's performance characteristics and reliability. The project consortium consists of six European partners representing research institutes and university, industries and SMEs. Only by a multi-national cross-border cooperation an enhanced effectiveness of current worldwide biological detection and identification solutions is obtained.
